The Glasser Carbon Composite AE 4/4 Electric 5-String Violin combines the familiar response of an acoustic violin with the versatility of modern amplification and an expanded tonal range. Constructed from advanced carbon fiber composite materials, this full-size acoustic-electric violin is designed to withstand changing temperatures, humidity, and the demands of frequent travel. Its resonant body produces an acoustic sound for traditional playing, while the additional low C string extends the instrument's range into viola territory, opening new possibilities for improvisation, ensemble performance, and contemporary musical styles.

Developed with electronics by Bartolini, the Glasser AE violin features an active amplification system that captures the instrument's natural vibrations for amplified performance. The Glasser Swordtail active chinrest system provides a convenient connection for electronic sound reinforcement, allowing musicians to move between acoustic practice and amplified playing. Planetary geared tuning pegs offer smooth, precise adjustments, while the instrument's traditional violin shape accommodates familiar playing technique and standard shoulder rests. Factory-equipped with Larsen strings, this five-string violin offers a practical combination of acoustic resonance, electronic flexibility, and carbon composite durability for adventurous performers.
