The Suzuki School of Newton is a nonprofit music school in Newton, Massachusetts focused on early childhood music education through the Suzuki Method. Suzuki School of Newton was founded by Gwendoline Thornblade with the mission of supporting cultural, intellectual, and character development through music. The program follows the educational philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, emphasizing small-step learning, consistent encouragement, and parent involvement.

Suzuki Method and Music Training

The Suzuki Method uses a “mother-tongue” approach to learning music: students listen, imitate, and repeat short musical patterns before combining them into larger musical ideas. This method helps very young children learn naturally and confidently.
