Three Pieces from the operas I Masnadieri, Rigoletto, and Un ballo in maschera for two cellos by Giuseppi Verdi
Published by International Edition. Edited and arranged by Daniel Morganstern and Elaine Fine
The operas of Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) are among the most performed in the classical repertory and remain incredibly popular today. However, Verdi wrote little in the way of chamber music for strings, save for a string quartet. But in his operas, he often turned to solo strings--especially cello--to illustrate heightened emotions or to accompany a vocal part in bel canto melodic style. Daniel Morganstern and Elaine Fine have presented three arrangements for two cellos of some of his best operatic cello solos. Includes two performance parts. For advanced cellists.
