Blackwing Matte Graphite Pencils, 12 pack

Soft graphite pencils for music notation, sketching, and writing

Blackwing Matte Graphite Pencils combine an exceptionally soft graphite core with the distinctive design that has made Blackwing a favorite writing and drawing tool. The soft graphite produces a smooth, dark line, making these pencils especially useful for music notation, score markings, rehearsal notes, sketching, and other tasks where bold, easily visible marks are helpful. The Matte is the softest of Blackwing’s four core pencil models.

Each pencil features a matte black finish, Blackwing’s iconic square ferrule, and a replaceable black eraser. The barrel is made from genuine California incense-cedar, while a Graphite Identification Stamp marks the core as “SOFT.” The set includes 12 pencils packaged in a gift box that doubles as a pencil cup, providing convenient storage for a music studio, practice room, classroom, or desk. For musicians who regularly annotate scores and parts, the Blackwing Matte offers a smooth-writing alternative to standard graphite pencils.
