Concerto in E Minor for violin and piano by Pietro Nardini
Edited by Josef Gingold. Published by International
Pietro Nardini (1722-1793) was an Italian composer and violinist who composed in the transitional period between the Baroque and Classical eras. A student of Tartini, he worked in Germany and Italy and became a teacher himself, teaching Bartolomeo Campagnoli, among others.
Nardini's Violin Concerto in E minor is indicative of the Italian classical concerto style passed on to him by Tartini, consisting of clear, charming melodies and nobility of style and feeling. It has become popular as a study work for advancing students. Intermediate-advanced level, Grade 4.
