Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period and is often considered one of the greatest composers of Western art music. Mozart left a veritable wealth of music for violinist across his 36 sonatas for violin and piano. These range from early juvenilia-simple yet prodigious-to mature masterpieces. Of particular interest to students are the Viennese Sonatinas, which are in fact arrangements of selections from 5 Divertimentos, K.Anh.229/439b by Gustav Lenzewski.
