Manuel de Falla (1876-1946) was one of Spain's leading composers in the early 20th-century. He consistently blended the colorful, impressionist styles of his time with evocations of Spain's traditional music, as can be heard in this arrangement for violin and piano of "Danse Espagnole" from La Vida Breve with pizzicatos, dancing rhythm, and passionate spirit.
