Two Romances in G Major and F Major, Opp.40 & 50 for violin and piano; Ludwig van Beethoven
Published by Dowani. Includes performance accompaniment CD with three tempos
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was the most influential and admired composer of the Romantic Era, and is considered today to be among the greatest composers of classical music to ever live. His music is known variously for its compositional rigor, sublime beauty, organic development, gripping urgency, and life-affirming, universal humanism. He left a significant mark on almost every classical genre he worked in, from string quartets to symphonies.
Beethoven wrote many serious masterpieces for the violin like his concerto and sonatas, but he also responded to popular demands of his time with this lighter pair of Romances for violin and orchestra, No. 1 in G Major, Op.40 and No. 2, Op.50 in F Major. They have since become repertory mainstays for students and professionals alike.
The newly edited DOWANI 3 Tempi Play Along editions comprise easy to read solo parts and piano reductions, with ideal page turns. Every CD opens with a full concert performance, followed by keyboard accompaniments at slow, and then medium tempo, for practice purposes, with the solo instrument heard softly as a guide. In the final track, you are the soloist, accompanied by the orchestra, piano, or basso continuo at the original tempo. Every CD has been recorded live, by distinguished soloists, accompanists and orchestras.
