Katherine Mohr is recognized as the first second-generation female bow maker in the United States. Daughter and student of celebrated bow maker Rodney Mohr, she works under the independent trade name fille de Mohr, building, restoring, and repairing bows in conjunction with her parents' business Mohr & Mohr in Ashland, Ohio. In 2013, the Mohrs established the Learning Trade Secrets workshops, a year-round training center for instrument and bow making, where she, her father, and other leading makers instruct prospective makers and restorers. A former board member of the Violin Society Of America, Katherine Mohr served as the Chair of the New Professionals and Social Media Committees, and she regularly attends the annual bow restoration workshops sponsored by the VSA.
