Claudio Chagas was born in 1973 in the city of João Neiva, and he is the oldest of the Chagas bow-making brothers. In 1993 he began his training by performing rough work for more established makers. He began making his own bows in 1997, and it is rare to find a dull knife or plane on his bench. Today he makes a majority of the Special Edition line of bows at the Arcos Brasil workshop.
