American violin maker Adam Kology was born in Rhode Island, and an interest in art led him to study sculpture, printmaking, and painting. His early career took him to Woodstock, New York, where he developed a love for folk music, woodworking, and the violin. He later moved to Boston where he honed his skills as a violin maker.
Adam served as the Assistant Manager of the workshop at Carriage House Violins for several years before opening his own workshop in the Hudson valley. Today, Adam divides his time between making new instruments and maintaining instruments from the local string-playing community. He is a member of the Violin Society of America and the British Violin Making Association.
