String Quartet No. 2, Op.31 (parts) by Josef Suk

Urtext edition by Zdenek Nouza. Published by Barenreiter

Josef Suk (1874-1935) was the most significant Czech composer between Dvorak and Janacek. Dvorak was his teacher and later father-in-law, as well as a major influence on his music. Suk went on to incorporate elements of impressionism and atonality, crafting modern, imaginative works of subtlety and psychological depth. His String Quartet No. 2, Op.31 was composed in 1911 while at the height of his compositional powers and remains one of his masterpieces. It is presented here this Barenreiter urtext edition, its first critical edition. Parts only. Master level, Grade 6.
