Four Trios, K439b (Anh. 229) and K 266 (271f) for two violins and cello by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

  • Published by International
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period and is often considered one of the greatest composers of Western art music. A noted child prodigy, he excelled in all genres. His music is revered for its beauty, clarity, balance, and transparency, underpinned by sophisticated craftsmanship.
  • The four trios for two violins and cello here date from Mozart's transitional Mannheim period in 1777 and all are light works that can be considered divertimentos. K.266 in B-flat Major consists of an Adagio and a Menuetto; the three trios K.439b are similar morsels originally written for a trio of basset horns and arranged later for strings. Parts only. Intermediate-advanced level, Grade 4.
