Four Trios, K439b (Anh. 229) and K 266 (271f) for two violins and cello by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Published by International

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period and is often considered one of the greatest composers of Western art music. A noted child prodigy, he excelled in all genres. His music is revered for its beauty, clarity, balance, and transparency, underpinned by sophisticated craftsmanship.

The four trios for two violins and cello here date from Mozart's transitional Mannheim period in 1777 and all are light works that can be considered divertimentos. K.266 in B-flat Major consists of an Adagio and a Menuetto; the three trios K.439b are similar morsels originally written for a trio of basset horns and arranged later for strings. Parts only. Intermediate-advanced level, Grade 4.
