Four Flute Quartets (parts) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Urtext edition by Henrik Wiese. Published by Henle
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period and is often considered one of the greatest composers of Western art music. A noted child prodigy, he excelled in all genres. His music is revered for its beauty, clarity, balance, and transparency, underpinned by sophisticated craftsmanship.
Mozart's Flute Quartets for flute, violin, viola, and cello were written for renowned flutist Johann Baptist Wendling and date from his time in Mannheim in 1777. They demonstrate his skill in instrumental writing and his deepening ambition as a composer. This Henle urtext edition contains three quartets, including a fragment, and examines the questions of authorship of these works, as well as historical context. Parts only. Advanced level, Grade 5.
