Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805) was an Italian cellist and composer. He spent much of his career in employ of Spanish patrons; as such, his music retains the galante style popular in courtly settings and sometimes contains suggestions of his Spanish locale. He is known for his many chamber works, which brought the cello to greater prominence within the ensemble. The relatively small viola-cello duo repertory is enriched with these two delightful sonatas in C minor and C Major, G.17 and G.18. Contains two performing scores only.
