25 pieces for cello and piano from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras. Along with classics by Vivaldi, Bréval, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Faurè, and Saint-Saëns ae several lesser known works, e.g. by August Nölck and Georg Goltermann. All the pieces are of medium technical difficulty, corresponding to grade 3-4 or grade 5-8 of the international examination system. Some can be played in the 2nd to 7th position, while several require putting the thumb under. All are suitable for the development of tone, vibrato, and differentiated bowing tecnique, as well as the performer's personal interpretation and musical presentation.
