Michael Yeats viola bow
American bow maker Michael Yeats began his career as a luthier in 1975 repairing and building various musical instruments, before becoming interested in bow making. After an apprenticeship in New York City with William Salchow, Yeats opened his own workshops in New York and Portland, Oregon. In 2014, he moved his workshop to the Netherlands, where he currently builds and restores bows for string players worldwide. Many of Yeats' clients are among the world's leading soloists and orchestra principals, including violinists Gil Shaham, Stephen Copes, and Benjamin Hudson, violist Toby Appel, cellist Ronald Thomas, and each member of the Yeats Quartet--a string quartet named after the popular bow maker.
