Sebastian Dirr cello bow
Sebastian Dirr was born in Erlangen, Germany, 1964. Upon receiving his high school diploma and university studies in Music Sciences, he was trained as an apprentice in bow making with the maker, Roderich Paesold from 1988 to 1990.
In 1993, he successfully passed Master Craftsman examination in bow making, which was administered by the Chamber of Crafts and Trades of the City of Nuremberg.
In 1997, he worked in the workshop of Richard Grünke in Langensendelbach. Although his primary focus was making new bows, he also took on major repair work in the shop. In 2001, he opened his own studio in Erlangen where he currently works.
