Designed by professional bowmaker Rodney D. Mohr, the "NuBow" was meticulously designed to meet performance standards, while intentionally created for sustainability. All parts are derived from legally sustainable resources, travel friendly, and constructed for minimal environmental impact.
Throughout his illustrious career as a bow maker, Rodney Mohr has produced over 1,100 bows and has restored a countless number of fine bows for top players and dealers, making him one of today's most prolific and celebrated bow makers. He has won numerous awards in international competitions including the Concours International de Paris and multiple Gold Medals at the Violin Society of America's bow making competitions, earning him the title of Hors Concours. He has served as president of both the VSA and the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers.
In high demand as a maker and a teacher, Mohr has been a guest instructor at the North Bennet Street School in Boston and has given demonstrations at the Chicago School of Violin Making, where he is an alumni and member of the board of directors. He previously served as co-director of the VSA Oberlin Bow Restoration summer workshops and is currently the Director of Learning Trade Secrets, a technical school in Ashland Ohio which focuses on teaching our students the art of bow making and restoration.
