Snow 800 Model Violin

800 Model

The company's name, Snow, originates from the workshop owner's first name XuePing, which translates into Snow. XuePing was trained in China by the great violin making master, Quan Zheng. Quan Zheng studied in Cremona, Italy, thus XuePing's instruments are of the Italian style.

Made from beautifully figured wood, 4/4 800 Model violins are artistically varnished to resemble old Italian models. Direct, complex and smooth tone quality with easy playability.

High quality ebony pegs are precisely fitted and the fingerboard is planed for proper scoop.

A high quality Despiau bridge carved by our workshop is accurately fitted. The violin is set up with Dominant A, D and G strings, a Gold Label E with one fine tuner, and a high quality ebony tailpiece.

We finish it by adding a Guarneri style chinrest made from select Indian ebony.

Snow 400 Model Violin

400 Model

4/4 Snow 400 Model Violins are handmade with a one or two piece selected flamed maple back and solid carved spruce tops.

The instrument is hand-rubbed with antique spirit varnishing, slightly shaded to imitate an old finish.

High quality ebony pegs are precisely fitted and the fingerboard is planed for proper scoop. The popular Wittner tailpiece with four fine-tuners built-in is used.

A high quality Despiau bridge carved by our workshop is accurately fitted.

We use Dominant A, D and G strings, with a Gold Label E string. We finish it by adding a Guarneri style chinrest made from select Indian ebony.

3/4-1/2 Violins

The 3/4 and 1/2 size Jay Haide Modele artistique à l'ancienne model violins are copies of a Stradivari model. The instruments have a remarkably mature, rich sound for their price range.

The Johnson String set-up includes precisely fitted high quality ebony pegs, a select ebony fingerboard planed for proper scoop, a Despiau bridge, the lightweight Wittner tailpiece with four built-in fine tuners, and Dominant A, D and G strings, with a Gold Label E string. We finish it by adding a Guarneri style chinrest made from select ebony.
