L. D. Bryant 1816-1899
L. D. Bryant was the brother of O. H. Bryant. Although we do not have much biographical information for him, his violins show the high standards of the outstanding Bryant family of makers. He was working in Boston between 1900-1914.
This violin, made in Boston in 1914, has a one-piece, slabcut, prominently flamed maple back. The varnish is golden orange-brown. The excellent tone quality is bold, dark, and rich, with an element of sweetness.
