Expert Bow Rehair and Repair

Bow Repair & Rehair

Bow repair and rehair services are available for violin, viola, cello, and bass bows. Cleaning and polishing of the bow and lubrication of the frog eyelet are included with every rehair. We use the best available Mongolian stallion hair. Rehairs are rosined with premium rosin, unless requested by the customer to leave the new hair unrosined. Most rehairs are completed between 2 3 days. Same-day service may be requested by making a scheduled appointment. Please call for details.

Introducing Daniel Medina, CHV's new bow technician. A violist from Southern California, Daniel became interested in violin and bow repair and restoration while in his teens. He first apprenticed with violin maker Kurt Neufeld in Irvine, California, and later joined the staff of Williams Gengakki Violins in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000. Daniel continued his training on conservative restoration techniques with bow makers Jerry Pasewicz, Rodney Mohr, and David Orlin, before joining the JSI workshop staff in the spring of 2012. He enjoys helping string players with the stewardship of their equipment, and is happy to offer his expert advice and services to meet your needs.
