Dear Weston Parent,
Johnson String Instrument will be delivering rental violins, violas, cellos and basses for the Weston string program on Monday, September 17th, 6:00-8:00pm at the Field School, Weston.
We recommend that you Pre-Register Online. You can Pre-Register Online after September 1, or call us at 800-359-9351 anytime after August 24th. Pre-registration ensures that an instrument of appropriate size will be reserved for your child until 8:00 PM and allows you reserve the required accessories in advance. If you are unable to Pre-Register Online, you may read over and fill out a contract at the delivery while your child is sized for their instrument.
Many Weston string teachers provide instrument sizing for their students during the first week of school. Because JSI will have this sizing information on September 17th, parents can pre-register online or by telephone without knowing which instrument size they need. If their teacher does not size your child before September 17th, JSI will provide sizing at the delivery. It is recommended that your child attend the rental night if you are unsure of the size, but you do not necessarily need to bring your child to the school if the instrument size is known.

-Violin, viola and cello rates include a wooden bow ($4 monthly introductory rate)
-Wooden bows for rental renewals are charged at $6 per month.

-Small violas for children up to about age 13, and small basses for children up to about 10.
-Basses available in limited quantities, please call to register in advance for bass delivery.
-School rate for small basses: a nine-month rental requires only a six -month rental payment.
Please note: We require a credit card number as a security deposit on the rental contract. However, you are welcome to pay the rental fee by cash, check or credit card. Rates include tax and insurance. Renewals can be done through the mail or over the phone. Yearly rates are less expensive and if you return early, you will be charged only for the initial 3-month rental period plus any additional time used. Rental equity program: A portion of rental fees paid may be used toward the purchase of an instrument
The string teachers have asked that violinists and violists purchase a foam shoulder rest or Kun shoulder rest. In addition, players should purchase an Essential Elements 2000 book and a music stand. An endpin anchor is recommended for cellists and bass players. These items are not included in the rates listed below, but their cost can be added to your rental contract at the delivery.
Existing and returning renters: If you need to return or exchange an instrument, call 800-359-9351 to reserve delivery to the school or to arrange shipping. We will have extra instruments available on September 18th, but calling ahead to reserve an instrument is recommended.
