Chamber Music
Network

Chamber music is alive and well in the world! New opportunities for adult amateur and professional musicians to play chamber music together are springing up everywhere.

The ACMP-The Chamber Music Network, founded in 1947 as the Amateur Chamber Music Players and based in New York City, now has over 5,400 members worldwide. The organization publishes a directory of musicians who play classical, jazz, and other styles of music who welcome partners to play with. This non-profit association brings together people of all ages, nationalities, and skill levels on any instrument to play with other musicians in an informal setting.

Another wonderful resource for chamber music lovers is a comprehensive

online directory called the Music Workshop Guide. This website was begun by Music for the Love of It, a longtime organization that promotes amateur music-making, and is now maintained by the ACMP. The Workshop guide lists an extraordinary number of chamber music workshops, camps, retreats, and festivals held all over the world. Some of the U.S. Northeast workshops are listed below.
