| For over twenty years, Johnson String Instrument has served the needs of our customers in Manhattan and surrounding boroughs. During that time, we have forged many close and strong relationships with schools, teachers, and families all over the city. We do our best to meet the needs of our renters by making monthly service trips to New York, as well as sending instruments and bows on trial for players unable to make the trip to our locations in Boston or Falmouth. This past February, owner Adam Johnson decided to take take a selection of JSI instruments from the sales departmen to New York for a two-day sales event at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. He was joined for this special event by JSI Sales Manager, violist and bow maker Jon Crumrine, Assistant Sale Manager, violinist and teacher, Vicki Hayes, Falmouth Store Manager, cellist and teacher, Nikki Garcia Renart, and Rental Coordinator musician and performer Robert Walsh. Although we are well known for our exceptional rental program, even long-time customers often don't realize we have the largest collection of student to professional instruments in New England. Mr. Johnson decided to have this event focus exclusively on showcasing the wide range of instruments and bows we have for sale, as well as introduce New Yorkers to our very talented staff. Arriving with dozens of appointments and a van full of instruments and bows, the JSI team spent two exciting days in the Conservatory's beautiful concert hall working with players, teachers, and families from all over the city. Visitors ranged from serious buyers to players just beginning their search for an instrument. Some people brought instruments for appraisal; others just wanted to see what we had to offer. Also on hand were JSI NYC renters, picking up accessories and exchanging instruments. Customers were encouraged to select instruments and bows for on-site trials in private practice rooms upstairs. We would like to thank the teaching and administrative staff from the Brooklyn Conservatory and the many people we met who made us so welcome and helped make this event such a wonderful success. If you would like us to bring Johnson's to your community, please call Julia McKenzie at extension 125 for scheduling and details. |
