Yang Wei is a Chinese luthier and owner of a shop that produces high quality workshop instruments. This cello is an example of his own personal work as part of a quartet that was submitted to the 2010 Violin Society of American competition. Crafted of aged European tonewoods, this is a Montagnana patterned cello with a slightly shorter body, but standard string length. The result is a rich, deep sound, with a quick response and powerful projection.
