This beautiful cello by German maker Gunther Lobe is based on a Montagnana pattern with full upper and lower bouts, but has a manageable string length. The figure of the European birds-eye maple used for the back and sides is wonderfully enhanced by the crystal-clear honey brown varnish. The cello responds easily but can withstand a strong bow arm, and the sound is bright, clear and resonant. The cello is being sold with a BAM oversized Hightech cello case.
