L. Morizot Freres Octagonal, silver and ebony frog. 4/4
Catalog ID: A-VNB/2941 - Morizot Freres violin bow
Louis Joseph Morizot (Morizot pere) had six sons (Morizot freres). Five of them became talented bow makers and worked closely with their father throughout the mid 20th century in their Mirecourt workshop. Utilizing high quality materials and bow making techniques learned from Eugene Sartory and Charles Nicolas Bazin, the famous firm produced a large number of professional-level bows. This bow, in excellent condition, is a fine example of the Morizot family work. The octagonal stick is masterfully carved out of dense, orange brown pernambuco. The bow is strong and quick to respond, producing a powerful and focused sound.
