The NS Design CR-5 Electric 5-string Cello in Amber Satin is a remarkable solid-body electric cello that delivers both refined, acoustic-inspired tone and a huge range of modern electric possibilities. Built around NS Design's Polar bridge-mounted piezo pickup system, the CR-5 can respond selectively to lateral vibration for expressive arco bowing and percussive pizzicato, or vertical vibration for an even, sustained plucked sound. With its energetic response and onboard tone shaping, you can dial in a traditional cello voice or explore bold new textures for stage, studio, looping, and direct recording.

Crafted from European maple with elegant flame maple faces, the compact body provides easy access to the upper register while remaining stable through temperature and humidity changes. Standard cello scale length and standard strings create a familiar feel for the transition to electric. Performance flexibility comes from three interchangeable support options: the included fully adjustable tripod stand for seated or standing playing, plus optional endpin and shoulder strap systems for traditional contact points or full mobility.
