The NS Design CR-4M Electric 4-string Bass Magnetic Pickup in Light Maple Finish is a highly versatile electric upright bass (3/4 size) designed for serious players who need consistent tone, strong amplification options, and reliable playability in any environment. Built in the Czech Republic from select maple and ebony, the lean solid-body CR Series design delivers impressive sustain and clarity while resisting feedback—making it equally at home on loud stages, in pits, and in the studio.

The CR-4M pairs NS Design's Polar directional piezo bridge pickup system with low-impedance EMG magnetic pickups, giving you two distinct tonal worlds in one instrument. The Polar system can sense lateral vibration for dynamic arco response and percussive pizzicato, vertical vibration for remarkably even, sustained plucked notes, or both. EMG magnetic pickups add classic electric bass character with neodymium magnets, individually adjustable coils, and very low noise. An 18V active circuit provides ample headroom, and the adjustable bridge, graduated full-scale fingerboard, and double truss rod support a wide range of setups and playing styles. A fully adjustable tripod stand and travel-ready tubular gig bag are included, and the loaded bag is designed to fit in the overhead compartment of most commercial aircraft.
