OSCAR CLARK 1873-1932 |
Oscar Clark, born in Compton, Canada, worked as a violin maker in Northampton, Massachusetts between 1888 and 1915. He studied with and was employed by Andrew Hyde.
This violin, made in 1905, has a rich red-brown varnish, and shows Hyde's influence with the long f-holes and bee stings. The tone quality is sweet and warm, with a smooth and quick playing response.
